Being a Foster Parent Saves a Life

Q:  What Do I Have To Provide?

A:  TLC in a safe & loving home  —  Camp Papillon supplies the rest! We pay for all of the foster pet’s expenses, including: veterinary and medical fees, food, crate, bedding, and even toys. Additionally, Camp Papillon makes available resourceful advice from experienced foster home volunteers.

Q:  Why Foster For Camp Papillon?

A:  Camp Papillon is not a shelter.  A shelter operates diiferently from a rescue group.  A shelter's main responsibilty is not to foster it's own animals but to get them out to local rescue groups to be placed in a Foster Network base.  Shelters need to keep space open for stray and lost dogs.  Because of state laws rescue groups without a facilty cannot take stray animals putting the responsibilty on the local animal shelter  to keep space available for all local people in the county.

Shelters need to rely on established rescue groups to assist with their overflow and assist wth their animals with special medical needs and senior animals.  Camp Papillon is exactly that.  We are the largest rescue in Monroe County will an establish Foster Program consisting of many experienced people who are here to work along side of you in becoming a Foster Parent.  Our Foster Parent Program is run by our Camp Papillon Foster Coordinator who is there to assist you with any concerns.
